Hire a moped in Koh Samui

Many tourists who come to Samui Island prefer to rent mopeds to get around the island, going to the beach and to go out for the evening. Since it is an inexpensive option, it is the most popular option by far. You’ll need to take your driving license with you and the operator will probably want to retain your passport for the duration of the hiring. We recommend you hire your moped via the hotel you are staying at.

Please beware that many local drivers have not received proper instruction in traffic safety. The roads around Samui are peppered with pot-holes and many accidents occur. We do not recommend that you hire a moped if you have had no riding experience on one.

Hire a Car
Your hotel will be able to arrange this for you and costs vary but some good deals can be had. Again, you’ll need to take your driving licence and the operator may require that you let them keep your passport for the duration of the hiring.

Taxi Meter

Taxis are plentiful but are always negotiable and the drivers will never use their meters.  Always negotiate a price before the journey starts.
